It all kicks off on UKGSA.org

We decided to spread the word and post on the UKGSA forum, see link. I guess it was expected there would be opposition to us but hey, its always fun having a little debate, why not join in and support us ;)

  1. Interesting to see so much opposition. here in the states organized, serious gravity racing is not so popular (red bull soapbox doesn't count) so there's not much of a community to be harmed by a few loosely organized people going for some sunday morning drives. They may have valid points, but the 2 kinds of racing are not the same. racing as a group is by far more fun and if those knocking it would give it a try with some serious drivers they might find it's quite enjoyable

  2. As Jerm pointed out, the 2 types of racing are different! MUCH different!

Illegal/Outlaw/Underground soapbox has just a few basic rules - 4 wheels, brakes and a helmet.

The other guys have big rule books and are programed to have to follow directions and do things the right way. There is no free thinking there.

You may have done your self more harm then good by going to their sand box to announce your intentions.

So how many cars do you have built and how many racers?

  3. As we are a group in its infancy there are only a few of us although there are interested parties as a result of the forum debate. No cars built yet but gathering the parts and the build will start real soon, might well be heading your way for build tips ;)

  4. As you know we are in Leeds. Have built a few carts, so know what is needed to make a strong cart that handles and brakes well...If you need any help, give us a shout.
